The Boundary Birds

The band’s press release cites Fleetwood Mac among its influences, but they forgot Sheryl Crow. Milledge is a Crow sound-alike, and both “Go There to Get There” and the similar “That’s the Way I Live” sound like variations on “Leaving Las Vegas” and “Every Day is a Winding Road,”...Anchored by some memorable pop tunes, The Boundary Birds’ EP reflects the band’s depth of experience playing together.

The Boundary Birds - my musical life on the West Coast 2009-2018

The songwriting and music college that I put myself through guided by the ears of some of the best musicians I've ever met. The Boundary Birds released 2 albums "Night Painting" and the self titled EP "The Boundary Birds". This ensemble was often made up of Deblois, Danny Campbell, James East and Ricky Z, but occasionally we were blessed with other great musicians; (David Carano, Dave Curtis, Mark Campbell, Lacy Younger, Mitch Manker, Jamie Kime, David , Cody Sherman, and Buffalo Brown.) We tore up those highways and had a blast.

The Boundary Birds Live Rehearsal.

we never did release this song!

“If you want to break free I can help you with that, I can help you with that!

I’ve got a shiv up my sleeve so I can help you with that, I can help you get out of the cage of the ages.”

Live with Jamie Kime at the Witz End.

DeBlois Milledge, Danny Campbell, James East, Jamie Kime, and Mitch Manker was there and played a cameo with us that night too. This song, I’ll try not to call was written with our friend Mike Cravens. Drummer/producer Danny Campbell was instrumental in bringing this and many other tunes all the way to the finish line.

The Boundary Birds

GO THERE TO GET THERE

Billy Holiday could sing the blues

She sang in Harlem on the winter nights

She wears a golden chain around her neck

and if she finds you, you should go with her!

You gotta go there, to get there

you gotta go there after all

you gotta go there to get there

na na na na na

Spinnin’ circles is it really bad?

You can’t remember how many you’ve had

But you’re a king in these crowded rooms

and if she finds you, let her take you home.

You gotta go there, to get there

you gotta go there after all

you gotta go there to get there

na na na na na

Sing the note like a bird on a thin branch,

you’re trying her patience

Peep between the bars and fly from the nest

to cure your indulgence,

why don’t you try it!
