The Boundary Birds

The songstress behind these folk-pop songs is the common denominator here at Mad Mouse Records, DeBlois Milledge.

If you have followed DeBlois for a while you’ll know and love The Boundary Birds, their ten year run included the albums "Night Painting", and the self titled EP The Boundary Birds. Usually made up of Deblois, Danny Campbell, James East and Ricky Z, but occasionally blessed with other great musicians; Mitch Manker, Jamie Kime, David Carano, Dave Curtis, Mark Campbell, and Buffalo Brown. Thanks for listening!

The Boundary Birds Live Rehearsal.

we never did release this song!

“If you want to break free I can help you with that, I can help you with that!

I’ve got a shiv up my sleeve so I can help you with that, I can help you get out of the cage of the ages.”

Live with Jamie Kime at the Witz End.

DeBlois Milledge, Danny Campbell, James East, Jamie Kime, and Mitch Manker was there and played a cameo with us that night too. This song, I’ll try not to call was written with our friend Mike Cravens. Our drummer/producer Danny Campbell was instrumental in bringing this and many other tunes all the way to the finish line.

The Boundary Birds

GO THERE TO GET THERE

Billy Holiday could sing the blues

She sang in Harlem on the winter nights

She wears a golden chain around her neck

and if she finds you, you should go with her!

You gotta go there, to get there

you gotta go there after all

you gotta go there to get there

na na na na na

Spinnin’ circles is it really bad?

You can’t remember how many you’ve had

But you’re a king in these crowded rooms

and if she finds you, let her take you home.

You gotta go there, to get there

you gotta go there after all

you gotta go there to get there

na na na na na

Sing the note like a bird on a thin branch,

you’re trying her patience

Peep between the bars and fly from the nest

to cure your indulgence,

why don’t you try it!
